Investigates architecture through reduction to its most fundamental principles.
Geometry establishes order.
Proportion establishes relationships.
Drawing establishes method.
Architecture emerges from the integration of all three.
From the organization of the floor plan to the composition of the façade and the vertical relationships of the section, every element participates in a continuous geometric structure.
The project therefore becomes less an exercise in architectural style than an investigation into the disciplinary foundations behind Classical architecture.
When plan, section, and elevation emerge from the same geometric order, architecture becomes a complete and coherent system.
Fundamentals of Architecture
Before architecture becomes style, language, or expression, it begins with a series of fundamental relationships.
Point. Line. Plane. Geometry. Proportion. Scale. Rhythm. Order. Space.
These are the elementary instruments through which architecture is constructed.
A point establishes a position.
A line creates direction and defines an axis.
An axis establishes relationships.
Geometry introduces order.
Proportion relates one element to another.
Scale connects architecture to the human body.
Rhythm organizes repetition and movement.
Together, these principles transform abstract geometry into architectural space.
